The Reddit Marketing Field guide is an overview of the power of the social bookmarking site. Reddit happens to be one of my favourite site and has been overlooked for marketing potential due to its unpredictable users who resist manipulation and can smell advertising scams a mile away. Redditors were mercenary on Woody Harrleson when he held an ask me anything (AMA) session which was a thinly veiled promotion for his new film release which then got torn to shreds after he got on the wrong side of the community.
Use Reddit at your peril if you are a newcomer but if you can respect the community this is one of the most powerful social media sites for going viral. Be creative and choose the right subreddit to seed on and don’t talk crap!
