I’ve never actually hired a car. I’ve hired plenty of vans (there’s something really empowering about driving a big van). But I don’t have the experience of car hire.
On a random tangent, one of my favourite comedy moments is in Planes, Trains and Automobiles. The moment that John Candy tries to take his jacket off and it gets caught as he’s speeding in the their hire car along the highway. I think about that moment every time I want to take my jumper off whilst driving.
So, if I was to rent a car – I really wouldn’t know where to start.
A handy guide of hidden fees to look out for when you hire a car infographic from StressFreeCarRental.com covers all the key points you need to know when renting.
For example, you can return a car with a full tank of fuel and should opt for a ‘full to full’ policy – I’ve learned something new there.
