Whereas the Ferrari is the symbol of ostentation, fashion and the luxe side of Italy, for me, I like to consider the image of Jean Reno stepping out of his battered FIAT 500 in the Big Blue a reflection of the real Italy.
The most iconic car of Italy the FIAT 500 has been a style icon for years. A tiny bug of a car which evokes scenes of comedy whilst still retaining it’s chic Italian edge.
The UK equivalent, the Mini lacks the same style and appeal that the 500 engenders. Because it is Italian it retains a European style so envied by the English and Americans.
Being a complete petrol head my favourite ever car has to be the classic Mercedes SL. The only convertible car I would entertain, it’s absolute elegance in motion; I have visions of sweeping along the coast line in Monaco with the sea breeze blowing through my hair. I can never quite make my mind up if I prefer white or red.
Therefore, the FIAT 500 Family infographic is right in my ball park of topics that appeal and the design is visually stunning.
The banner is FIAT branded and the illustrated line drawing of Italy is beautiful. The background of the infographic and the line drawings in combination with the photographic images of the car is what makes this piece.
The information for each car is delivered in neat sectioned boxes with all key information visually conveyed in a quick read and understand fashion. The car images look beautiful and the colour scheme is minimal in the background to avoid a heavy visually clash – the eyes draw to the cars only. Great design. The finishing touch are he swishes of pink accent the arrows guide your eye through the graphic.
Overall I’m very impressed with the delivery and design of this infographic, its a high standard of design and a beautiful piece from Richardhardie.co.uk. 9 out of 10 from me.
