Honda Accord 30 Years of American Craftmanship

The Honda Accord 30 years of craftmanship infographic was created as a large format banner display to assist in the launch of the new 2013 Honda Accord model. Used at press launches the infographic has now been posted online by Honda to continue the PR of the new car. A great use of the crossover of print to web – this is a perfect example of showing the roots of infographics and data visualisation which come from print and not online marketing.

The generation evolution of the different Accord models is well laid out and I love the pattern from the exterior colours visualisation.

When designing for a large format banner the layout requirements are much different than when designing for a 620px version ot be shown on screen – key information has to be visible at eye level and the uses of font size and weight is dictated by the large size – unfortunately we cant see the subtlety of the design at this size but I can imagine it was an impressive banner at 9′.
