When it comes to arcade machines, one of the biggest players is SEGA. Since they stopped making consoles they haven’t stopped making arcade machines, in fact some of their models are bigger and brasher than ever! From Liberty Games

What some people might not know however is that SEGA have been making arcade games ever since the 1960s. Back then Service Games (Se-Ga), didn’t even use computers to power them! However this set them on a course that would see them create some of the biggest, most profitable and above all genre-defining arcade machines of all times, such as SEGA Rally, Virtual Racing and of course the all time classic out-run! The data on which machines made it into this history lesson comes from various different sources, not least our own sales figures as one of the biggest suppliers of brand new and re-conditioned arcade machines in Europe!

Certainly everyone has their favourite arcade game, but we think that most readers will be very hard pressed to find at least one machine on here that they haven’t played – proving that although in recent years consoles have been matching arcades for pure graphics and processing power, there’s a little place in most people’s hearts for the humble arcade machine.
