A classic joke comes to mind: ‘I think Lance Armstrong deserves credit for what he achieved: when I was on drugs I couldn’t even walk straight never mind get on a bike’.
A DUI is a serious offense, aside from the fact that if you run someone over whilst under the influence you are in serious, serious trouble facing jail time; the every day implications mean you could lose your job, cause relationship break downs and social exclusion.
Why anyone would still get in their car and risk driving under the influence is unexplainable but I believe there is still a culture in the older generation that ‘a few drinks does nobody any harm’ whilst the younger generation are the ones most likely driving high not drunk.
The on page version of The full cost of a DUI infographic from BaumGartnerlawyers.com is on first glance a little confusing – it looks like a webpage with no design/illustrative or infographic inclination.
As you scroll down the stats and graphics are very clear. I like the bold, clean graphics but some of the html text doesn’t seem to be rendering as it should. The use of typography could be significantly improved with the use of section break headers and type hierarchy through size and weight. The colour palette is duo tone which works well together but they appear to be the brand colours and I am never a fan of branding on infographics – the focus should be on the content not the brand. The logo in the banner is a big no-no.
I would also recommend proofing an infographic before publishing, especially if DUI is spelt wrong as the very first word at the top.
I’m not sure how to review this piece of work but The full cost of a DUI infographic overall has to get a 4 out of 10.
