Are you comfortable hiring tradesmen to work on your house? Do you worry or think about how to manage them whilst they are working in your property? There’s a classic IT Crowd episode where Jen hires a builder and Roy claims he has appeared on Britain’s Worst Builders, forcing Jen to work from home and supervise him. The builder thinks that Jen is making a pass at him.
Having builders, electricians or plumbers work on your house can be a stressful time. It’s an invasion of your personal space and a lot of people are not comfortable with relative strangers have free access to their home. A level of trust is needed.
Home Improvement Etiquette Infographic addresses a highly niche topic of how to behave with painters, plumbers, electricians, builders and contractors. A survey conducted by TheBathOutlet.com asked over 400 people how they respond to a variety of situations. Questions such as: would you tip, would you give them a key, would you remove valuables, would you leave them alone, would you ask them to remove their shoes.
I am an advocate of companies who conduct their own research and then produce an infographic to represent the results. This means that their audience will have access to unique and relevant information.
The design of Home Improvement Etiquette is a good visual representation of the subject matter and uses a strong banner at the top. Each question is clearly sectioned and the results are all presented in clear to read graphs. The use of graphic icons also helps to visually convey the information.
Overall this is a good graphic and I offer a 7.5 out of 10.
