Sometimes I don’t think I have ever quite figured out what I want to do. For the last 20 years I have bounced around doing many things. I have many ideas of what I want to do and that really is the problem; I can’t decide on what I want to do the most. I want to do everything!
I have endless lists in my head, with plans stretching for the next 30 years. So, first I will do this and then go and live here and then learn this language and then start writing and then run another business, etc. etc. etc. Problem is I have too much to choose from and so I end up not getting anything done.
What I really need is to make one clear choice, and then go for it.
The Temporary Vs Permanent Work Infographic from Pertemps.com is one of my favourite kinds of infographic – a flow chart style and the aim is to help job seekers choose which route to take: Temporary, permanent, full-time or part-time. I must have an exceptionally dominant inner geek as I get overly excited at road signage, fridge-freezer icon and flow charts.
The banner introduces the viewer to the subject with a strong typographic title punctuated by the surrounding decorative icons. The blaze of accented colour frames the title without distraction on the eye and the effective use of white space leads the eye down the page guided by the arrow to lead you into the user journey. Perfectly balanced and visually leading.
The colour palette accents the dominant white space, which draws the eye to the main question choices without being confusing. The arrows are a subtle grey to help guide the eye along the correct path through the journey. The typography is clear and unassuming, a good balance of function without being dominated by fussy typefaces.
The finishing touch, for me, which adds the perfect sign-off is the statistic about 643k people recruited. It delivers the brand information and a call to action in such a subtle unassuming manner that is a reflection of sophisticated design/content.
Overall I am impressed with The Temporary Vs Permanent Work Infographic and give this a 9 out of 10.
