Even the biggest brands (and it usually is) make errors in their websites. Look under the hood at the source code and you can usually find an anomaly or ten. My favourite is always an incorrectly coded canonical or the entire site is has blocked Google from crawling with a Noindex tag. Surprisingly common as a website should be Noindexed whilst it is being built and removing this can often be overlooked when the site goes live. Several days sitting watching rankings tank until the penny drops.
Putting a site live can be a stressful process, there is so much to remember and it is essential to have good process to keep things running to plan. A checklist should be every developer’s bible.
The Ultimate SEO Checklist for Website Redesign infographic covers this very subject and walks through the main points that a site should check off at each stage. The graphic covers pre-design, during redesign, pre-launch and post-launch.
The design starts with a clear banner illustrated to represent the subject – you should be able to see exactly what an infographic is about in the top banner – this delivers.
Each section uses clear icons colour coded, the most obvious, yet effective way to visually separate information. The titles of each icon feature a checkbox which I think is a nice touch for the subject.
The content is niche and specific to web developers; therefore, it can be highly technical and offer content of value without trying to appeal to a wide audience. This is an infographic of value and a great reference piece for anyone redesigning their website.
Overall Digitrio gets a 8 out of 10 for the Ultimate SEO Checklist for Website Redesign.
