My early memories of video games were playing Pong on an Atari – yes, I am that old. I still love the hypnotic blip of the ball hitting the bar. it was so simple, yet, so utterly brilliant and captivating.
I fondly remember Donkey Kong, TomyTronic 3D and then the original Sonic the Hedgehog on SEGA.
I didn’t ever progress past Sonic so have no experience of World of Warcraft, it all got a bit to immersive and time consuming for myself. And, I really miss the old days of the blip, blip, blip.
Being someone in tech I am aware of computer languages and recently looked into programming UNITY for VR headsets – I see great potential in VR.
So, VideoGame Development Language infographic from Concordia University has my attention.
The home page banner has a bright and tech based headline that invitingly leads into the piece.
This is a parallax piece and scrolls through screens to show the content about each language. Covering Assembly, C, C++, C# and Java. Each screen features graphics from the type of games the language represents.
The piece of content as a whole is inviting, interesting and well represents game development language.
Overall I would give this a 8.5 out of 10. Impressed.
