An infographic that looks at the differences between men and women when it comes to spending, Men Vs Women Spending Habits details information from the most common goods that money is spent on for both men and women, as well as listing average annual income for both. It also includes quick statistics on credit cards, debt and insolvency rates in the UK.
For example, statistics show that, on average, men earn more than women of the same age range, yet only spend £200 more on average when shopping online. Whereas women spend more on cosmetic, fashion and beauty goods and services, men tend to spend more on home repairs, travel and entertainment, including electrical products. However, women are more known to be compulsive buyers, with 85% of women making compulsive purchases. On average, £14,920 was spent every second in June 2012 on credit and debit cards.
The infographic also points out the areas in the UK with the highest insolvency levels, with the South East having the highest level of all. Also, it shows that more men were declared insolvent in the previous year in England and Wales, and the average household debt level in the UK in July 2012 was over £50,000.
