The Impact of Poor Health

Many factors in life add to the day to day pleasures of being alive. At the top of this list many people would consider their health the most important factor to being happy. Unfortunately, poor health is a common problem across the world. And somewhat surprisingly, the United States is not one of the healthiest countries in the world, even with more money and more healthcare. In fact the United States rates rather poorly when competing with less wealthy countries such as Cuba as well as when comparing its health against similar economic countries such as Japan.
The infographic illustrates the USA’s problems with overall health and infant mortality rates. It makes one wonder if better healthcare is the biggest factor in healthy living or if a healthier diet and a more active lifestyle play a much bigger role. After all, living with less means more work and more activity. And less processed foods, as are eaten in America, but avoided in many other countries, seem to be a large factor in healthier living. Possibly countries that live “closer” to eating from the land are actually a step ahead in keeping their populace healthier and therefore less reliant on top-notch healthcare. When you are healthy from a better lifestyle, healthcare may not be as important.
